Ensuring Data Quality with Fountayn

Data quality in clinical research is one of the most important aspects of a successful trial. This data is essential to the overall success of the clinical trial, not only from a regulatory standpoint, but as it highlights the effectiveness and safety of the drug or device being tested.

To promote data quality, researchers should establish standardized protocols for data collection, conduct regular quality checks, and train staff on proper data handling procedures. Additionally, utilizing electronic data capture systems and implementing data validation checks can also help improve data quality.

With the Fountayn platform, we help our Clients ensure data quality by offering a tool that connects team members to the data, and each other, as part of a unified system. Study configuration is customized based on each Study and/or Site’s set of requirements, with dynamic functionality to promote capturing the data at the right time.  That data collected by Site or Staff, whether it be updates or additions, is immediately available in the system to those who need it most. The Fountayn platform allows our Clients to define and implement a workflow for data review, and provides tools for identifying and monitoring the verification of documents based on that defined workflow. With our robust offering of form configuration options, Clients gain better opportunities to streamline data capture and promote uniformity in the data. The system can pro-actively notify users in real time when a data point doesn’t meet the expected criteria, or prevent erroneous data from being saved inadvertently. In addition, our Training resources and on-line help tools help to ensure that users have consistent guidance on use of the system, which is easily accessible at any time.

All of this is managed as part of our Cloud Storage model, which includes end-to-end data encryption to ensure data is safe and secure. A risk-based approach that utilizes quality data is essential in conducting a successful clinical trial, and the Fountayn product suite provides our Clients with the tools and resources they need to ensure quality results.
